Raising Cane’s finally came to the Lehigh Valley on Aug 6, 2024, bringing its simple menu. The Allentown people have been going crazy over this chicken with lines wrapping around the building and flowing into the streets.
Raising Cane’s started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with Todd Graves. Todd Graves originally named it “Sockeye’s” because of his time in Alaska. Still, he decided to name it after his Labrador retriever, Raising Cane’s, who frequented the construction site a message on the company’s website reads. Raising Cane’s has 11 different locations in Pennsylvania, but has put the first in history Raising Cane’s in the Lehigh Valley.
According to an article published on Sept. 3 by 69 News, “To celebrate the Lower Macungie restaurant’s opening day, Raising Cane’s is hosting a series of fun activities for the community,” Ryan Kneller said.
Some events include A “Lucky 20” draw to award 20 customers 13 and older free Raising Cane’s for a year and a check to the Lehigh Valley Humane Society, etc.
“We’re thrilled to become part of the charming, historic city of Allentown and create a lasting, positive impact in the Community that extends well beyond the taste of our delicious Chicken Fingers,” Jim Carter the Area leader of restaurants said.
According to an article published on Sept. 3 by 69 News, The Raising Cane’s website “believes in no heat lamps, microwaves, etc. “We use premium chicken with a special marinade for a finger that’s as tender as it is tasty,” a message on the company’s website reads.
The menu includes their famous chicken tenders, cooked-to-order crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and coleslaw.
Fans of the chain are known as “caniacs,” the business features a Caniac Club, where members can stay in the loop with the latest news, updates, and exclusive club benefits.
“Get insider info on what’s happening in the Raising Cane’s world and receive members-only benefits like special surprises for your birthday, member anniversary, and more!” an online description reads.
Raising Cane’s is looking to open another location in the Lehigh Valley at 1836 Catasauqua Rd. in Hanover Township. The Hanover Township location received initial approval from the township’s planning commission in September, but construction of the restaurant has yet to begin.
