After watching the wicked movie, I really loved it. It was such a great movie and it really showcased a lot of powerful singers. One thing I really love about the movie is how much you can relate to “Elphaba.” She has a story that goes deeper than the Wizard of Oz. As a young girl she faced a lot of hate because of how she looked and even as she got older she still faced a bunch of backlash because of it.
She struggles to find herself or where she belongs. Seeing the movie, I really related to the struggle to find oneself within its narrative. Sometimes there’s a point where you feel like you’ll never find your purpose but then it’s like you can’t forget that as time flies you just have to wait for your time to come and that you also need to be easy on yourself.
In the movie something that really stands out to me is when Elphaba’s younger she discovers she’s greater than what she knows of and in the scene i find it hard how she has to discover herself because someone was bullying her sister.
Another reason I find the movie really great is in the end when she’s falling and looking at her reflection through the window of the emerald city she’s a version of herself. In Fact she saw her younger self and to me that kinda hit hard especially because it’s when she finally discovers she has a higher purpose in life then to get judged by everyone around her.
Lastly, my favorite part about the whole movie was when Elphaba and Glinda finally become friends. I do think its a little sad the way they became friends but I loved how their friendship was strong and beautiful and I feel they connected really well.
