ESL teachers throughout the district have been working together to create English second language opportunities for the families who need it! Mrs. Hauser, Mrs. Catalina, Mrs. Marinos, Mr. Brem and our own ESL teacher Mrs. Mcnally.
“We want as many people to come in to celebrate all cultures,” says Mrs. Wendy Hauser, ESL teacher at Salisbury Elementary School.
The high school Spanish club has been asked to help organize activities to interact with. Activities include a chalk wall to embrace creativity, a map and pins to represent your country(ies), bracelet making and face painting!
You might not know much about it, no worries, that’s what this is for. Mr. Yurchick himself agrees that we should enhance interest and knowledge in the event. The event has actually been held in the high school cafeteria for three years to bring all Englishenglish learners in the district together.
The event is primarily contained within the cafeteria with the option of traveling to the auxiliary gym to play basketball or volleyball, maybe even visit the chalk wall and admire the art created by everyone being brought together.
The group effort across the district comes to fruition on October 18 when everyone comes out to collectively celebrate culture, enjoy food, and have fun!
