For the past 14 years, Marvel movies have been some of the most action packed and interesting movies, however recently that has not been the case. For the last few years, the movies have not been the same.
I was two years old when the first MCU movie was released. I practically grew up watching these movies and I am a big fan. So when I realized these movies got repetitive and uninteresting with boring dialogue and an underwhelming story I was very disappointed.
Now when I see a new Marvel movie is coming out I look the other way because I’m expecting it to be unacceptable, especially when it’s a new character they are trying to introduce because they just use the same boring formula where they somehow get their powers make some crummy jokes, then a mysterious villain appears for almost no reason and they have to fight. It gets way too repetitive and we have seen it too much.
Marvel’s most recent movie titled “The Marvels” was a complete failure with “Rotten Tomatoes” giving it a 61% on their ranking scale. The movie was poorly written with a lot of jokes that did not land and quite a few plot holes. The movie’s budget was 273 million dollars and made only $46,110,859 on its opening day.
The problem with these movies as of late is there seems to be a formula they always use with most of their solo movies. This makes the movies feel unoriginal and boring. Another problem is that Marvel makes these movies about characters many people don’t know or just don’t really care about like Captain marvel, The Eternals and Black Widow.
There have been some good movies Marvel has put out in the past few years though, these include movies like “Spider-man No Way Home” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3”. Even with these movies being great, it doesn’t make up for the consistent misses from Marvel with movies like “Thor love and Thunder” and “The Eternals” which both of those movies were boring and lazy.
With the recent writer strike being officially over, I can only hope that one of my favorite genres of movies will finally be back to the good old days of the fun and action packed Marvel movies we deserve. But if it doesn’t, stop seeing the movies and let them know that they are lazy and not entertaining. Maybe then that will make the writers and directors put effort into their movies instead of looking for a quick cash grab.
