For the longest time I always considered KFC to be superior to Popeyes. Last Friday I decided to try Popeyes for the first time in years and I can confidently say that Popeyes is better than KFC.
When I arrived at the drive-thru, the worker took my order which was 5 tenders, large french fries and a biscuit. It totaled to about 15 dollars and the food came out right away fresh and hot. The worker was really nice and added a pup cup for my dog.
Arriving at my house I opened the bag and smelled the delicious meal I was about to eat. The first thing I ate was the fries. The fries were seasoned with perfection and were the perfect kind of crispy, each bite of the fries was a flavor explosion that just made me happy.
Next I ate the biscuit and honestly this was the best part,. the biscuit was not too hot and not too cold it was perfectly warm and salty. Each bite of the biscuit brought me back to being a little kid when my grandma would make me biscuits that tasted very similar.
The last thing I ate was the chicken. I tried the first bite with no sauce and it was amazing. In fact it blows KFC out of the water. The chicken was perfectly seasoned just like it is advertised and it was so tender you could bite right through with ease. I gave a small piece to my dog and he loved it so much that he begged for more until I was done eating. The next chicken tenders I ate I dipped them in their TRUFF sauce which is popeyes spin on spicy mayo. The sauce made the chicken go from an 8/10 to a 10/10.
As a whole Popeyes is the best spot if you want fast food fried chicken. Popeyes is way better than their competitor KFC, not only in the fried chicken department but also in all the sides. The service was quick and fast, the only two problems with my experience was that the prices were a little high and after eating everything I felt kind of sick for about two hours. Next time you want fast food that’s great quality and will certainly fill you up, I highly recommend you stop by Popeyes.
