On Tuesday, August 27th 2024, 30 year old Wade Steven Wilson received two death row sentences by a Florida judge.
Wilson was arrested on October 8th, 2019 for the murder of 35 year old Kristine Melton and 43 year old Diane Ruiz in Cape Coral, Florida.
He had been previously arrested in 2015 on charges of sexual battery, kidnapping, and raping. He denied all charges upon initial conviction.
Wilson met Kristine Melton on October 7th, 2019. The two, as well as another woman, went back to the home of Jayson Shepard where they stayed for a couple of hours.
Wilson, Melton, and the other woman went back to Melton’s house in Cape Coral, which is where the murder took place.
After the other woman left, Wade Wilson strangled Kristine Melton to death while she was asleep and then stole her car.
A short while later, Wilson saw Diane Ruiz walking in Cape Coral and asked her for directions to a school, where he would lure her into his car and attack her. He beat, strangled and pushed her out of the car before running over her 10-20 times.
