Nicolle’s Opinion:
To start, I had a love-hate relationship with this movie. It was a total shock. I haven’t watched a movie that was this awkward in so long. Besides that, I loved the movie because of how different it was. The awkward sense of the movie made me want to continue watching so much more. This movie was not meant to be a horror film, it’s categorized as a thriller, surprisingly. It had jaw-dropping scenes that made me pause the movie and rethink my life decisions. Many people, like Aliah, say that the worst scenes were the bathtub or graveyard scene, but I think the worst was when Felix was killed. When Felix died I honestly didn’t even want to continue watching because he was the best character but I pushed through. What made the movie even better was Barry Keoghan’s horrific blue eyes that made him seem almost hypnotizing and eerier. My favorite scene was the last one where the main character, Oliver, was dancing through the house naked with the song, “Murder on the Dance Floor” playing in the background. Honestly, with the movie taking such a dreadful turn the scandalous end scene was hilarious.
Aliah’s Opinion:
I disliked this movie so much you can’t even comprehend how much I disliked it. The only thing that made this movie better was Felix. I can tell you that Felix made this movie a whole lot better since he is VERY attractive (I only watched this movie just for him). Oliver was a weirdo and was a stalker. There were so many weird scenes that made me feel disgusted. Let’s not get started with the graveyard scene, the bathtub scene, Oliver and Venetia “hanging around” outside, and him dancing around NAKED at the end of the movie really topped it off. I can say that Oliver made the movie more interesting and made some big plot twists as well. Although it’s not a traditional horror film in any way, I would categorize it as such. It features some good cinematography, and strong performances, is strange, and eerie, but also kind of funny not gonna lie.
