From September 17 to September 22, Jimmy Kimmel’s show was suspended due to political statements on the death of Charlie Kirk. Jimmy Kimmel commented on the recent death of Charlie Kirk on his talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Jimmy Kimmel is a 57-year-old talk show host. His show has recently been getting more recognition as he faced suspension from ABC.
Kimmel said in his talk show, “The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
BBC explains Charlie Kirk as “conservative influencer who became the voice of Maga youth”. Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10, 2025.
ABC (the owner of his talk show), threatened to sue Jimmy Kimmel for voicing his aggressive opinion.
Kimmel’s suspension didn’t last long however, as ABC news explained he returned to his show on the 22 of September.
President Donald Trump explained that he, “can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back.”
Trump then posted his threat to sue ABC for giving Kimmel’s job back because it “puts the network in jeopardy,”, according to USA Today.
Kimmel ended up emotionally apologizing to the public of his late-night audience.
NBC News shared his video as he thanked those who stood up for him saying he would especially like to, “mention my fellow late night talk show hosts, I also want to thank all of you (his audience), who supported our show and cared enough to do something about it.”
He then goes on to explain that the leader of our nation is jeopardizing jobs because he “cannot take a joke.”
