Last season, Salisbury Varsity Basketball not only made the Colonial-League playoffs, they also qualified for the district playoffs. After two first round exits last year, they look to excel past expectations labeled on them.
On Nov. 15, they will look towards new talent to join the team after six seniors graduated. As it stands currently, they will have a young team this year with only one senior.
“As a junior who made the team as a freshman, the best advice I could give out would be to communicate when you’re on the court, and work your butt off.”
Junior starting point guard Steven Lozada made it very clear what it’s gonna take to make a Falcon team with high expectations after a Summer League championship.
This past year, Keaton Frye gained some experience playing at the varsity level as a freshman. When asked about what advice he would give to the incoming freshman he painted the picture well.
“These tryouts are a two day event. It’s very important to not overthink in between the two days.”
Players from all levels emphasized how hard it’s going to be to make the team this time around. But if there’s one thing to take away from talking to them, work hard, hustle, be a tremendous teammate and the Falcons would love to have you.
On November 15th, the Falcons will look to assemble a new roster, and compete for a district title.
