My opinions on Ariana Grande’s new album

My+opinions+on+Ariana+Grande%E2%80%99s+new+album

Just this past week, Ariana Grande is back with new music. Her new album has been teased for a while, and now “Eternal Sunshine” is a hit. Over the years, while she was taking a break from writing music, she started to fade out slightly. Meaning more fans were turning against her, judging her for her looks, personality, and relationships. Many songs from this album, especially one of her top songs “yes, and?” prove to the haters that she doesn’t want to hear negative comments and that she couldn’t care less about what they say. These top three songs are my favorite, plus the stories behind these songs are very intriguing, and I’m going to explain why.

  •  “Eternal sunshine”

Ariana Grande just recently got divorced from Dalton Gomez. She’s now in a relationship with Ethan Slater, and a lot of people don’t support her because they believe that Grande came between him and his wife’s marriage. The song represents Grande saying goodbye to her old relationship and welcoming in someone new, and it embodies a different perspective of her love life.

  • “We can’t be friends (wait for your love)”

This song’s meaning was multi-purposed, in my opinion. In the first verse of the song, she says “I don’t want to tiptoe, but I don’t want to hide, but I don’t want to feed this monstrous fire, just want to let this story die.” I think that was a representation of the way the media treated her and the things they said to bring her fame to a close. But I think she also wanted to make the song about having closure for a relationship and ending a chapter in her life. She made a huge decision when she walked away from her marriage, and it’s too hard to go back to being friends after everything they’ve been through, and the guilt she would carry from leaving him.

  • “True story”

Many songs from this album were based on the pain and struggle that Grande went through when she decided to leave her marriage, or how she’s feeling in her new relationship. But this song is almost the opposite of the rest. In an interview with Zane Lowe, she explained how the song is an untrue story based on all untrue events. “You can pull from your truth, you can pull from a concept, you can pull from a film, from a story you’re telling, from a story about a relationship that a friend told you. Art is really, it can come from anywhere,.” Grande said.

I was surprised when I first heard her new album, mostly because I wasn’t expecting her to release an album about 5 months after their divorce. But I think she is such a hard-working artist who puts so much of her time and energy into creating beautiful masterpieces with some of the best producers and other talented artists. She has such a supportive team working with her, as well as a supportive and loving family that has watched her grow over the years. She’s been through a lot of incidents that had an impact on her career, but I’m still so proud of her and I think she’s so successful, and may even win back fans from the past with this new album.
