There have been a huge number of suicides this year alone, and the year just started. This start of the year alone has had 42,651, if it makes anything more worse it goes up one almost every minute. I just checked and it went up to 58,086. The number sadly keeps rising and it won’t stop until these people get the help they need. You can be that person to help someone!
Suicide is a serious and preventable issue that happens when someone feels overwhelmed or hopeless/alone. We need to talk about it openly, support each other, and make sure help is easy to get. Everyone deserves compassion and care to feel less alone and find hope.
Suicide is a serious and sensitive topic caused by many factors, like mental health problems (depression or anxiety), feeling alone, or going through tough life events like losing someone or struggling with money. Some people might feel hopeless or like there’s no way out.
It’s important to recognize warning signs, like talking about wanting to die, pulling away from friends, or acting very differently. People might not ask for help because they’re scared of being judged or don’t have access to help.
One fact about Suicide is that it is a common cause of death worldwide. It is said that men are more likely to die by suicide, but women try more often.
Suicide is a common cause of death in the ages 15-29 years old globally. More than 90% of people who die by suicide have undiagnosed mental health conditions.
Some may argue that younger kids are dramatic or are lying to get attention, which is not true. Most kids that talk about it or express their feelings are crying out for help.
You can call or text 988 for help or support. Always try to talk to people you trust or are close to. If you see warning signs of someone don’t take them lightly help them seek help immediately.
